Originally conceived as part of the Fiat EcoDrive app, we looked at in-car telemetry differently.
Instead of analysing the car, we analysed the road.
Using data from every journey, we built a constantly updating map that revealed poor road surfaces, traffic pressure and roadwork hotspots. We even created an equation that calculated vehicle wear and tear, giving each car a “travel age.”
Fiat moved slowly. Audi moved faster.
They adopted the idea and rolled it out across the United States, sharing the data with the Federal Highway Administration to help improve road quality nationwide.
